With over 30 years of experience as an occupational therapist – spanning clinical practice, leadership, service development, and supervision – I bring a wealth of knowledge and a genuinely warm heart to my supervision work.
My approach is gentle and supportive, centred on creating a safe space where whanaungatanga, reflection, and growth can flourish. As Tangata Tiriti, I am committed to upholding te Tiriti o Waitangi, and I weave the principles of manaakitanga, kotahitanga, and wairuatanga through everything I do. These values aren’t just words to me – they shape the way I show up for every person I work with.
I draw on a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, and work within the therapeutic function of supervision as described by Weld. I believe supervision at its best helps people reconnect with what they do well, find their way through complexity, and grow with confidence.
I have a particular interest in supporting clinicians who are working in emerging areas of practice – those navigating new territory or finding their footing in roles that don’t yet have a well-worn path. That kind of work deserves thoughtful, grounded supervision.
One area I’m also passionate about is creating space within ‘mainstream’ supervision settings for spiritual and religious dimensions to be part of the conversation. These aspects of identity and meaning are often left at the door – and I think that’s a loss. In my supervision practice, they are welcome.
If you’re looking for a supervisor who will walk alongside you with care, cultural responsiveness, and deep professional experience, I’d love to connect.
